The Faculty of Education at Tribhuvan University, with financial support from the University Grants Commission, conducted faculty capacity enhancement training for cohorts from Kathmandu and Pokhara. In addition to distributing certificates to the participants, the faculty launched its regularly published journal, Education Quarterly, and Abstracts Released from researchers who have earned their PhD degrees from the faculty.
Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa and Registrar Dr. Rabindra Shivakoti attended the event held at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Education. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Thapa stated that the Faculty of Education should act as a guiding force for the entire university, mentoring and motivating teachers across all institutes and faculties. He also mentioned that work has already begun on plans to continue teacher capacity-building training, advance the concept of "Nepal as a Destination for Education," and delegate academic and administrative authority to lower-level bodies.
Registrar Dr. Rabindra Shivakoti noted that the Faculty of Education is a leader within Tribhuvan University in terms of world rankings and stated that the university would advance its academic programs in alignment with the "Earn While You Learn" policy. Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Bedraj Acharya, Dean of the Faculty of Education, expressed that they are striving to improve the faculty with the cooperation, trust, and motivation of all stakeholders. Assistant Dean Dr. Awatar Subedi delivered the welcome address, while remarks were also made by Assistant Dean Dr. Buddharaj Khaniya, Assistant Professor Dr. Kamalraj Devkota (involved in the PhD abstract compilation), Assistant Professor Dr. Balaram Adhikari (member of the Education Quarterly editorial team), Prof. Dr. Krishna Bista of Morgan State University, and teachers Gangalakshmi Bhandari and Narayan Adhikari (participants in the capacity-building training).
